An evergreen boy was laid to rest.
Twenty-one years-too few years-
The wicker said.
Where the holly tree grows-
The birds sang, oh how they sang
For our evergreen boy, laid to rest

At the top of the hill
Where a mother spent her youth,
Where her evergreen boys now rest.
Where the holly tree grows
Older every year
Our evergreen boy
Will remain evergreen, today, tomorrow,
On and on and on.
